The fever is gone — why stay careful

Dengue has three phases. The middle one needs the closest watch.By সম্পাদনা দল · Editorial desk — Oct 18, 2026 · 5:30 PM, 1 min read

The three phases of dengue

  1. Fever (the first 2–7 days): high fever, body aches, pain behind the eyes
  2. Critical (24–48 hours after the fever falls): fluid can leak out of the blood vessels
  3. Recovery: appetite returns, strength returns slowly

In the critical phase a person can look better while fluid is being lost inside the body. That is why daily check-ins and blood tests matter so much in these days.
