Dengue in children: what parents need to know

Children dry out quickly and cannot always say how they feel. Watch for these signs.By সম্পাদনা দল · Editorial desk — Oct 17, 2026 · 5:30 PM, 1 min read

In children dengue often starts like an ordinary fever. But a child's body holds less fluid, so danger can come quickly.

Do not wait if you see

  • Will not eat or drink anything
  • Unusually drowsy or very irritable
  • A dry nappy or no urine for six hours
  • Crying with belly pain, or vomiting again and again

What to do at home

Give small amounts of fluid often. Paracetamol only at the dose your doctor gives for the child's weight. Add your child as a family member in the app — our team will follow them too.
